For the first time, I'm opening up a chapter of my life—a story filled with gratitude and joy. My goal is to inspire hope in every reader.

I hail from humble beginnings, the eldest of seven children, five from my mom and two step-siblings. My dad was a sailor and grew to the rank of a captain before he fell from grace. My mom was a full-time housewife before she became a widow. My parents are semi-educated, stopping at form five back in the day. They are both from the south-south part of Nigeria, Ethiope West, in Delta State.

I have faced resistance from the very beginning of my life. My parents tried and waited eleven years to have me. So, I am what they call ‘the womb opener'. I made the way for my siblings to come.

The dropout episodes in my life began during my primary school days. Although I passed the common entrance, financial obstacles prevented me from completing primary education. Similar challenges arose in my 12th grade (SS3) and again during my pursuit of a degree, where the financial strain, exacerbated by the COVID pandemic, led to another dropout. However, these setbacks couldn't extinguish my optimism—the quality that kept me going.

I've named myself the ‘Queen of Optimism' because I believe that greatness resides within me in the face of adversity. That belief fueled my dedication to personal growth, skills refinement, and my pursuit of being valuable to my community.

Today, I share my story not from pity or shame but from a position of strength, highlighting the power of optimism and a positive outlook. My message is for those who, like me, have faced life's battering—remember, you are not alone. As long as you keep fighting and refuse to give up, hope remains alive, and dreams can find expression. Stand tall, knowing it's not over until you win.
